The Buddhist Church of Sacramento is commemorating the 125th anniversary of its founding with numerous events in 2024, starting with a Sakura Matsuri Food and Shopping Faire on Saturday, March 23.

At the shopping faire, open from 9 am to 3 pm, a variety of items are available including new and gently-used Japanese items, vintage Japanese dolls, doll cases, tea sets, dishes, serving platters, vases, framed art and small appliances. Local vendors will sell hand-crafted items.

Pre-sale orders for food items can be requested through March 16 online at BuddhistChurch.org. A limited supply of food items are planned to be available at the event from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm or until sold out.

Selections include teriyaki beef sandwiches, spam musubi, fried rice, mochiko chicken bento, curry chicken over rice, Kahlua pork over rice, cabbage salad, signature teriyaki sauce (in a jar), baked goods, taiyaki, pizza and cold brew coffee.
