SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Kids will climb obstacles, drag tires and crawl through mud pits at the annual Dignity Health Dirty Kid Obstacle Race, hosted by Sacramento Adventure Playground, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10-11. The Adventure Playground is located at the Maple Neighborhood Center, 3301 37th Ave. in South Sacramento.

Kids 4-15 – and even some adults – will be challenged by a demanding course with numerous physical obstacles: climbing over walls, jumping haybales, crawling through a mud pit, crawling through tubes, navigating balance beams and dragging tires. Course length, obstacles and difficulty adjust with age. The race is both fun and an important lesson in perseverance!

The race is preceded by the Dirty Kid Obstacle Race from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20 at Fairytale Town serving as a fantastic warmup for October’s Dignity Health Dirty Kid Obstacle Race at the Sacramento Adventure Playground, or for anyone who simply wants to run over, through and under Fairytale Town’s iconic play structures. 

Each racer will receive a Fairytale Town Family Pass for four (includes racer). Additional spectators must purchase admission to Fairytale Town.

These outdoor events are fundraisers for the nonprofit Sacramento Adventure Playground, which serves 7,000 kids a year with hands-on physical play: building forts, climbing trees, using tools and caring for animals, with computer screens forbidden. The Adventure Playground fosters problem-solving skills and creative thinking in youth who need this unique program.
